About Reading Vision

Reading Vision is a company devoted to helping struggling readers. Our goal is to help them “see” the words more clearly, which in turn will improve their fluency and comprehension, and ultimately help build their confidence as a student. The Reading Vision system, commonly referred to as “Penny Power®” was developed by a dyslexic, George Manilla, M.D. In 2012 Dr. Manilla recruited Joe de Braga and Linda Lindsey to form the Reading Vision company. Since that time we have trained teachers across northern Nevada as well as worked with hundreds of individual students in Nevada and Wyoming.

Dr. George Manilla
Dr. George Manilla
George T. Manilla, MD., is a medical pathologist who spent most of his research efforts in developing an effective vaccine and topical treatment for Equine Sarcoid of horses and Cancer eye of cattle and horses. One day he recognized that he was a compensated dyslexic and that he had accidentally developed a treatment method for his own dyslexia. The subtleties of the method were developed so that this dyslexia treatment method could be easily used and taught. The treatment method entails both a stereoscopic eye exercise and required new reading method for struggling readers.

Linda Lindsay
Linda Lindsay
In a great effort to help students with specialized reading problems, Linda searched for years to find something that really worked. When she and her family moved to Elko, Nevada, she finally found what she had looked for for so long. Linda has worked with Dr. Manilla and the reading program developed by him for the past 23 years, both in the capacity of instructing individual students through the program and as a trainer of those moving into the instructor position. The success of Dr. Manilla’s program has been a passion for her since the first introduction of it was made to her in 1989. That passion is expressed in every student she has instructed and in every instructor trained.
